SEATING PANELS:

This is the term we use to refer to the portions of your saddle and/or backrest where your body contacts it. We highly recommend the use of leather in these areas as it provides the most luxurious ride and will breathe with your body. It will also break in and adapt with the foam shape.

There are many different colors and styles of leather available for a look either mild or wild.

SIDE PANELS:

Pretty self explanatory why these are named the way they are. However, some saddles have both a Side Panel AND a Stud Band that also runs along the side. If you are not sure which is which, picture where the row of studs would be on your saddle... That is the Stud Band and the other will be your Side Panel.

We recommend the use of vinyl in this spot as it will stretch and spring back to help support the foam shape. Vinyl also doesn't break in like leather so it will keep the saddle looking sharp longer.

WELTS

Sometimes people call this "Piping". It is the thin line of material that runs in the seam and adds a nice custom look without becoming visually overwhelming.

Available in a wide range of colors to coordinate with your paint or accents, but we cannot make welts with the heavily textured materials like Ostrich and Alligator. Saddles are also available without the welt if you prefer.

TAIL SECTION:

You probably didn't need any help figuring out what we call this area, but here it is. The tail area is padded just like the seat, therefore you can use any material in this position just like the seating panels.

On sportbikes, it is popular to choose a color that mimics the bike's paint job. This will give the illusion of a cowl while still providing for passengers. Please keep in mind that a vinyl or leather material is not going to match your paint job, but can be chosen to coordinate.
